Derek Grain and Braedon Delorme Bronze former Wolverines members of Team Canada.

Wolverines Team Handball is ready to begin yet another exciting season!! Our teams have been highly successful over the past  seasons. We have been described as a, "...perenial nemesis..." by our opponenents.  Players are encouraged to continue playing in grades 9 through 12!!!!

The 2014 season brought out over 100 players and ended with over 91 sticking it out until the end of provincials.  Our home tournament hosted 17 teams and the competition was the highest we have seen to date!!  It is inevitable that the 6th annual home tournament in April 2015 will be even better!!  This was the fifth year of the Regina Youth Team Handball League and the Wolverines were a force.  In an upset, our Wolverines #4 boys took gold at provincials.  Our Wolverines #1 girls took Silver!

As well, at this time we have 6 former and current Wolverines who are current or former members of Team Canada.  Joel Legasse(back-graduated 2009), Dorianne Lozinski (graduated 2010) Braedon Delorme(goalie-graduated 2011), Derek Grain(pivot/back-graduated 2012), Courtney Sukinek (graduate 2014), Spencer Neighbour (graduate 2015)

Wolverines Handball Club is proud to have a program that is strongly supported by in partnership by Saskatchewan Team Handball Federation, Prairie Handball Circuit, Regina Handball Club and Winston Knoll Collegiate!!  We thank the many volunteers from these organizations as well as the wonderful staff at WKC for promoting and contributing to the growth of our programs.

Team Handball will begin the 2015 season at the end of January.  We have many players who show promise in this sport. Wolverines Team Handball promotes inclusion, responsibility and a healthy lifestyle.  All registered players are guaranteed a spot on one of our many teams.  Teams are chosen by skill, attitude, attendance and citizenship.

TEAM HANDBALL AS A SPORT

“Team Handball is the most under rated Olympic sport in the North American market.”- ESPN.com

For about eight million registered players and hundreds of millions of fans in some 150 countries, though, team handball is synonymous with fast end-to-end action, inventive playmaking, bruising physical play, daring lunges toward the goal and fearless goalkeepers standing firm in the face of menacing attacks bearing down on them.
In Europe, especially, where professional team handball leagues rival basketball in popularity behind only soccer, its stars are high-paid celebrities and among the world’s most gifted athletes.
